Unlike Australia’s Green Star
green building rating system, to date the
USGBC’s LEED system does not yet offer a
specified direct credit for the inclusion of
plant programs. Within the current LEED
section titled “Innovation in Design” it is
possible for plants to be part of a
specially developed use of plants or a the
use of plants within a type of educational
design.
NIPA has published a set of Guidelines for Architects
and Designers. The document is a draft version and
open to comment. It can be found under the Accreditation Menu and
may be downloaded if required.

The Association is proud to announce that the New
Zealand Indoor Plant Hire industry can now take out NIPA
Accreditation. There is a long standing
association between our two countries and in the future
NZ will be contributing to the NIPA website and news
letter. More details on this relationship will
emerge over the next few months.
