| The west
elevation is very visible from Swanston Street and will be comprised of
storey-height, timber louvres – operated by a system of hydraulic levers –
that will follow the sun in order to prevent solar gain from the western (afternoon?)
sun while maintaining views of the city. |
|
| When closed, CH2
will resemble a ten storey by 22m wide timber box. When open at night and in
the mornings, the opening box will reveal itself. |
|
| It is a façade
that responds to nature. |
